An illicit affair and Dileep's grudge: what film stars told police Film personalities have supported the police theory that Dileep had nursed a grudge against the victim in the February 17 actress attack.

Kochi: In more startling developments in the February 17 actress attack case, film personalities have supported the police theory that popular actor and eighth accused in the case Dileep had nursed a grudge against the victim.

Most prominent among these statements, were made by Dileep's present and former wives – Kavya Madhvan and Manju Warrier. While Manju said it was the victim who first informed her about the Dileep-Kavya affair, Kavya said that the assault victim fabricated stories about them.

Statements of the film personalities to the police have been accessed by Manorama News.

Kavya Madhavan

• Kavya reportedly told the police that the victim actress played a role in causing trouble in Dileep's marital life. The victim shared pictures of Kavya and Dileep with the actor's former wife Manju Warrier, causing discord in their life

• However, her statements do not say that Dileep had any role in the heinous crime

• She also does not support the reports that Dileep constantly made phone calls

• She said she does not know main accused Pulsar Suni, and whether he visited their home

• Singer-cum-anchor Rimi Tomy informed her about the actress attack

• She also supports Dileep's statement that he immediately informed DGP Loknath Behera after Suni tried to blackmail him

Manju Warrier

• Manju said the victim was the first to inform her about the Dileep-Kavya affair. 'When I asked Dileep about this, he said why should you listen to such juvenile talks?' Manju told the police

• She also said she had seen messages sent by Kavya on Dileep's phone

Kunchacko

• Actor Kunchacko Boban told the police that Dileep had indirectly asked him to withdraw from Manju Warrier's comeback film 'How Old are You'. The film went on to become a runaway success.

• "He called me over the phone one day and asked details about the film. He hinted that I back off from the project but did not directly say so," Kunchacko told police.

• Kunchacko also said: "There were also talks that Dileep tried to remove the victim actress from the movie Cousins."

Rimi Tomy

• Rimi Tomy in her statement told police that Dileep and Kavya were in a relationship when the stars toured America as part of a stage show in 2010. Rimi also claimed that the assault victim had informed Manju Warrier about this.

Mukesh

• Actor-turned-politician Mukesh revealed that he was aware of the bitter association between Dileep and the victim actress

February 17 actress attack case

• The actress, who has also worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and assaulted inside her car for two hours on February 17 night in Kochi

• Dileep was arrested on July 10 for plotting the attack and hiring goons to assault the actress and videotape the crime
