Bhagyalakshmi's voice to get louder, dubbing artist to join CPI Bhagyalakshmi has dubbed for more than 2,000 films. She rose to fame by lending her voice to Shobhana in many films.

Thiruvananthapuram: Bhagyalakshmi, veteran dubbing artist of Malayalam Film Industry, is all set to join Communist Party of India (CPI). She met the party’s state secretary Kanam Rajendran at M N Smarakam, the CPI State council office at Thycaud, to discuss her entry into the party. Kanam Rajendran later expressed his delight and welcomed Bhagyalakshmi to the party.

The noted dubbing artist has been vocal about various issues. She had hit the headlines earlier this year after she flayed independent MLA PC George for raising serious allegations against a young actress, who was waylaid and assualted in a moving car in Kochi on February17. Bhagyalakshmi said that it was shameful that a people’s representative could talk in such a cruel way after George asked how the victim actress went on to act in films two days after the heinous incident.

Bhagyalakshmi has dubbed for more than 2,000 films. She rose to fame by lending her voice to Shobhana in many films. Bhagyalakshmi was instrumental in bringing in a professional touch to dubbing, thereby making the film industry recognize the work as important.

Bhagyalakshmi's autobiography titled as'Swarabhedangal' got the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award.
