Kottayam: Young Congress leader and legislator V.T. Balram on Thursday hit out at the party leadership, saying the leadership should end 'adjustment politics.'

In a Facebook post in reaction to the CPM-led Kerala government's decision to probe his party leaders' role in the solar scam, Balram said the Congress was paying the price for settling the probe into the conspiracy angle in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case.

Balram said it was high time the Congress ended its adjustment politics and raised its voice against corrupt ministers including Thomas Chandy. Transport minister Thomas Chandy was under the police scanner for alleged land encroachment.

The two-time Thrithala MLA said the hasty action against Congress leaders based on the judicial commission report, which was yet to be publicized, was a heinous witch-hunting by the CPM and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

He said he did not believe that the commission report against former chief minister Oommen Chandy and other Congress leaders was reliable.

Balram said the CPM was executing its undeclared agenda of 'Congress-mukt Kerala' and called upon his party leaders to fight back.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on Thursday said he had no clue about the Congress making compromises on the probe into the TP case being. Addressing a press meet in Kottayam, Thiruvanchoor said Balram should explain what he meant by his comment.

Thiruvanchoor was the home minister when RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan was murdered. He said the court was satisfied with the probe into the murder case.

Chandrasekharan's wife K.K. Rema told Manorama News that Balram's revelation was shocking.

Pinarayi on Wednesday announced a probe by the Vigilance and Anti-Corrupion Bureau against Chandy based on the findings of the Justice (retd) Sivarajan Commission. Other Congress leaders, including Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and Benny Behanan, will be booked for misusing power to help Chandy.
