Kochi: The Kerala High Court (HC) on Wednesday closed the anticipatory bail plea filed by actor-filmmaker Nadhirshah in connection with the February 17 actress attack case.

The court made it clear that Nadhirshah need not fear arrest since the police had informed that there was no evidence against him. However, the court asked him to appear before the police when they summoned him.

The police team investigating the case had told the court that Nadhirshah had not cooperated fully with them during questioning. The police also submitted the details of the questioning in a sealed cover. The court closed Nadhirshah's petition after considering these.

The court had earlier prohibited the police from arresting the filmmaker during the hearing of his bail plea.

Nadhirshah, a close friend of actor Dileep, was interrogated for over 10 hours before Dileep was arrested on July 10. Dileep, accused of plotting the crime, was released on bail on Tuesday.
