D-Cinemaas and other properties of Dileep came under the scanner after the actor was accused of conspiring to sexually assault an actress in February. Thrissur: Actor Dileep’s multiplex in Chalakudy was not built on encroached land, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has reported. The investigation report on D-Cinemaas will be presented before the court after the director general of police vets it.
The investigation followed a public interest litigation filed by P.D. Joseph before the Thrissur Vigilance court. The court ordered a quick verification into the complaint.
The VACB has also dismissed allegations of unauthorized construction in the multiplex.
Meanwhile, the district collector is looking into allegation that the land had been encroached much before the actor bought it to build the multiplex. The complaint says that the land belonged to the royal family and the Dewaswom and the person who sold it to Dileep had encroached on it.
The probe by the Thrissur VACB deputy superintendent of police was limited to whether the actor had encroached the land. The report will be submitted before the court by September 27, when the matter comes up for hearing next.
