With an eye on the sky, rain-hit Kerala limps back to normalcy

Thiruvananthapuram: Even as the state slowly limps back to normalcy after incessant downpour wreaked havoc during the last week, the met department has warned some parts in Kerala will receive intermittent but heavy rain until Wednesday morning

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in the northern districts (three to four cm), while central Kerala is likely to receive less rainfall (maximum of 1 cm).

Rainfall eased in central and south Kerala as the cyclonic circulation that formed over the Bay of Bengal and the offshore trough in the Arabian Sea moved north. According to the IMD, Ernakulam south received 15 cm rain, followed by Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district 12 cm Monday. Peerumedu, Munnar, Taliparamba, Irikkur, Kumarakom and Mannarkkad received 11 cm each.
