Kochi: The special investigation (SIT) probing the February 17 actress attack case questioned Malayalam filmmaker Nadhirshah again Sunday.
He reiterated that he had no direct acquaintance with main accused Puslar Suni. After the hours-long interrogation, Nadhirshah said that the cops had never threatened to arrest him. He also said that he and Dileep, who was arrested for allegedly plotting the attack, were innocent.
Earlier, in his anticipatory bail plea to the Kerala High Court, the director said he was being threatened by the cops.
Nadhirshah, who turned up by 10 am at Aluva police club, was subjected to a medical examination. The police had prepared a special questionnaire for Nadhirshah.
Though Nadhirshah had appeared before the SIT Friday, the police suspended the interrogation as his health deteriorated. The police suspect that the director has some crucial information regarding the 'missing' mobile phone that was used to take the photos and videos of the assault on the actress.
The police had arrested Nadhirshah's friend and actor Dileep on July 10 for allegedly hiring goons to assault the young actress and videotape the assault. The police are yet to find the mobile phone used to shoot the assault and the memory card that purportedly contains the obscene images.
Days before his arrest, Dileep along with Nadhirshah had undergone a 13-hour marathon grilling at the Aluva police club. Though rumors were rife that Nadhirshah also would be arrested, the police made no such move.
However, last week the police issued a second summons to Nadhirshah, prompting the director to approach the court for anticipatory bail. The court, however, asked the director to appear before the probe team.
The police have claimed that the conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress in a moving car and film the act was hatched by Dileep.
The actress, who has worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours by the accused on February 17 in Kochi.
The police had arrested Pulsar Suni, who had worked as a driver of many film personalities, six days after the incident.
Meanwhile, Suni on Saturday moved the Kerala HC for bail. In his plea, the history-sheeter said that he was 'trapped' in the case and he had no role in the heinous act.
