Kochi: After two months of incarceration, actor Dileep is set to approach the Kerala High Court once again on Wednesday, seeking bail. The court had earlier rejected the bail application from Dileep, accused in the February 17 actress attack case, twice, citing that the actor was a powerful personality and could affect the impartial conduct of the probe.
Dileep was given special permission early in September to attend his father's remembrance rites. The actor, who was allowed two hours to go home and perform the rites, had returned before time and followed the stipulations set by the court 'to the T'. The defense may use this as an argument in favor of the bail plea, adding that the first critical stage in the investigation is over and Dileep's bail poses no risk to the investigation at this stage.
Policeman A.R. Aneesh, who allegedly helped prime accused Pulsar Suni, has been recommended for departmental inquiry. The police had earlier found that Aneesh, who stood guard at Suni's cell when he was lodged at the Kakkanad jail, had helped the accused contact director Nadhirshah over the phone.
The police have also found that Aneesh had attempted to help Suni send voice messages to Dileep. He had also contacted the Kakkanad-based boutique owned by actress Kavya Madhavan, Dileep's wife, several times over.
Aneesh, was also the person in whom Suni confessed to the involvement of Dileep, after which he helped the accused contact latter.
Aneesh, charged as the 14th accused in the case, was arrested on Saturday and subsequently released on bail. Meanwhile, Nadhirshah, who has already applied for an anticipatory bail, continues to be admitted to a hospital.
The young actress was waylaid and attacked in a moving car in Kochi on February 17. Pulsar Suni, who has worked as a driver for many film personalities, was arrested a week after the incident.
