Who is Dileep's first wife? Kerala police dial Gulf number Dileep, Manju Warrier

Kochi: The February 17 actress attack case seems to have opened a Pandora's box for actor Dileep, who was arrested for plotting the heinous crime.

Manorama News Thursday reported that Dileep had married another woman before his wedding to actress Manju Warrier.

The Kerala police team probing the actress attack case found the hitherto unknown information about actor Dileep. TV reports said that a distant relative of the actor was his first wife and the wedding was officially recorded at the registrar office in Desam, Aluva, Dileep's hometown. Efforts are being made to retrieve the records.

Manju Warrier, Kavya Madhavan, and... Police stumble upon Dileep's first wife

Dileep, whose official name is Gopalakrishnan, reportedly married the woman before making his cinematic debut in the 1990s. Once in the cine world, he got close with actress Manju Warrier. The relatives, who got a whiff of this affair, informed Dileep's wife about it and the couple parted ways. However, the police suspect that Dileep did not officially separate from the woman.

Who is the woman?

The woman, whose identity was not known, is reportedly in a Gulf country now. The police are trying to contact her and the people who signed as witnesses to register the wedding.

Dileep had divorced Manju in 2015 and married actress Kavya Madhavan in November 2016, in a ceremony that garnered wide media attention and was a talking point in Kerala.

The police, meanwhile, reportedly questioned mimicry artist Abi, who had earlier worked with Dileep.

Abi knew about Dileep’s covert first marriage

Dileep was arrested on July 10 in connection with the abduction and assault of the young actress in Kochi . The police had arrested Pulsar Suni, who had worked as a driver of many film personalities, six days after the incident. A letter which Pulsar Suni purportedly wrote to actor Dileep had caused a furore.

Dileep had undergone a marathon 13-hour grilling at the Aluva police club days ahead of his arrest. The actor had approached the police saying that the prime accused tried to blackmail him from jail. Things went awry for Dileep after the police found discrepancies in his statements. The police had also questioned Kavya and her mother in connection with the case.
