Kochi: Actor Dileep's complaint that Pulsar Suni had blackmailed him is fake, the police have said.
Dileep, now in police custody in the February 17 actress attack case, had filed a police complaint accusing Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, of blackmailing him for Rs. 2 crore.
The police said it could not be established how, when, and where Dileep was blackmailed. Dileep filed the complaint 20 days after the said incident of blackmail, the police said.
Sources said Dileep was with his manager Appunni when Pulsar Suni called him from jail. An audio recording of a purported telephonic talk by Pulsar Suni 'blackmailing' Dileep was handed over to police by Dileep and Nadhirshah earlier.
Dileep had repeatedly stated that he too was a victim - of trial by media and a campaign of lies. He told mediapersons before and after his first questioning at the Aluva police club that he had told the police of Suni's attempts to blackmail him.
