Dileep being taken to Aluva jail. Photo: E.V. SreekumarKochi: Noted lawyer K. Ramkumar, who defends Malayalam actor Dileep in court, alleged that the actor was arrested after being "framed" in the actress attack case.
He said the actor has been charged under Section 120(B) of IPC. He said a bail application has been moved in the court. It is likely to be considered Wednesday.
However, he refused to divulge details. He was talking to reporters outside the residence of the magistrate Tuesday morning.
Ever since the sensational arrest of the popular film figure, various voices of dissent are being heard against Dileep. Film producer Liberty Basheer and director Vinayan had come out, raising serious allegations against the actor. They even went on to say that Dileep had a criminal background and that he was known to settle charges.
However, no person from the film field offered any support to the man, who is believed to hold a prominent position in the film circles.
