File photo of DileepKochi: As the news of arrest of Malayalam actor Dileep in connection with the actress attack case sent shock waves across Kerala, the victim's family chose to be silent over the sensational arrest.
When contacted by Manorama News reporter, the family said they did not want to comment on the issue now. However, a close relative of the actress thanked everyone for their support. In a Facebook post, the relative said that he was happy to see that the truth finally prevailed.
Dileep was detained Monday morning, nearly four months after the young actress was waylaid and brutalized by a set of goons in a moving car in Kochi on February 17.
The arrest came a fortnight after a 13-hour marathon grilling of Dileep and director Nadhirshah at the Aluva police club on June 28. Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the case, arrested six days after the crime, had alleged a conspiracy behind the incident.
Dileep had repeatedly denied having any links with Suni even while admitting that he was not in good terms with the actress, who survived the horrific night. The actress was waylaid, abducted and allegedly molested by the gang in the car, when she was returning from her workplace.
