Pinarayi Vijayan. File photoThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala chief minister's office plans to appoint a five-member professional team to prime up its handling of the IT sector. The team will be tasked with communicating effectively with IT and corporate companies and finding more investments in the sector.
The team members will be taken in on a two-year contract in the pattern of international companies, with hefty pay packets. The CM already had advisers for police, economy, science, media, press, and development.
The advisers will be designated 'Chief Minister's Fellow' (CMF) and will be selected after competitive interviews. Applicants should have postgraduate degree from a reputed business school in the country or abroad. The high-power IT committee functioning under the government will short-list 30 candidates after interviews.
The selection panel will include the director of IIM-Kozhikode and other experts. The age limit is 40, and candidates are expected to communicate effectively in English and Malayalam. They should also have proven ability in formulating ideas and coordinating projects.
On completion of the assignments, the selected candidates will be appointed in public sector undertakings or the government's mission projects. They can also continue at the CM's office if necessary. The IT department said in a press note that a new cadre was being considered for them.
