Happy to be bald: Mother, daughter donate hair for cancer patients It was an emotional moment for Rejani and her daughter Ishna when they shaved their heads to donate hair to make wigs for cancer survivors.

For female cancer patients, the most traumatic phase is when they lose their hair. Intense chemotherapy and other treatments often comes with unpleasant side effects and losing that first clump of hair after treatment is the hardest to bear.

Recently, many have come forward by donating their hair to charity to accommodate a growing demand for affordable wigs. That's where Rejani comes in.

It was an emotional moment for Rejani and her daughter Ishna when they shaved their heads to donate hair to make wigs for cancer survivors. The mother-daughter duo from Thrissur decided to donate their flowing locks at the Cancer Research Centre at Amala Hospital.

Rejani is a teacher at Aloor M.M Upper Primary School. Ishna, who is a plus-two student did not think twice to join Rejani in her noble endeavor. Rajani’s husband Ineeshyan was with them every step of the way.

It is important to teach your kids to give back because they will learn a lot from donating hair to make wigs for those in need. As a parent, you will also learn a few lessons, including that your kid is often braver than you.
