Preity was upset about the tactics employed by Sehwag and captain R Ashwin in their chase of 159.
Ashwin promoted himself to No. 3 and departed for a duck. Royals fell short despite a brilliant unbeaten 95 by K L Rahul.
Kings XI have managed just a solitary win from their last four games and Tuesday's loss have put more pressure on them to seal a place in the play-offs.
Kings XI are in third spot with 12 points from 10 games.
Sehwag, who has also played for Kings XI in the past, took over the the role of the mentor last season.
He was instrumental in Kings XI buying Ashwin and West Indies opener Chris Gayle in the player auction.
Preity, who makes it a point to attend all matches of Kings XI, is keen on her team winning the elusive title this season.
