Jayaraj's 'Veeram' to be the crowd puller at IFFI today Poster of the movie 'Veeram', Kunal Kapoor and director Jayaraj

Panaji: Most of the Malayali delegates present here to attend the 47th edition of IFFI will gather in front of Inox theater complex, the main venue of the festival, Friday evening, to watch one of the much-awaited movie of the year -- Jayaraj's "Veeram".

The film's premiere in India is likely to be in front of a packed audience with no ticket left for reservation. "Veeram", an independent adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth and the legend of Chanthu, a warrior in northern Kerala, is touted as the most expensive film in Malayalam. The film will be screened here in The Indian Panorama section.

Starring Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor in the lead role, the film is made in English, Hindi and Malayalam and aiming a nation-wide audience. Jayaraj had earlier exuded confidence that the film would cross Rs 100 crore in box office. The teaser of the film has gone viral.

Though the film was scheduled for the upcoming IFFK in Thiruvananthapuram, the makers later recalled the entry as they did not wish to screen it in public before the official release slated for January.

The response in Goa is likely to be a decisive factor in the film's fate in box office.
