The much awaited video song 'Hymn for the weekend' from British band Coldplay's latest album, 'A head full of dreams' has surfaced online. Yet another Indian celebrity, Sonam Kapoor, was touted to be making her grand foray into the global stage after Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
The video featuring American singer Beyoncé and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is set in alluring India, with a fine merge of the fantastic ideas about the orientals and more realistic scenes of streets drenched in holi colours. Covering also the mostly missed out south of India, one can catch a glimpse of Bharathnatyam and Kathakali, art forms predominant down south.
Beyoncé takes on the larger chunk of the song, and she is 'Rani Beyoncé' and even 'Mata Beyonce' with the screen lighting up at the end to write 'Coldplay' in Hindi. Ravishing in her bedecked self, Beyoncé stands to exemplify the West's fancy towards the East.
Sonam Kapoor appears in three shots, bejewelled and living up to the theme of the exotic East. A typical Chris Martin number, 'Hymn for the weekend' could be your song for the weekend if you like 'Coldplay'.
