The official teaser of Godha, directed by Basil Joseph and starring Tovino Thomas, Renji Panicker, Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles, was released online Sunday.
The 59-second-long video starts with Renji Panicker's voice-over and features some punchy moments from the ring along with a catchy track composed by Shaan Rahman. We get to see a brawny Renji thrashing opponents and the angry young man that Tovino is. In the end, we see a young woman, Wamiqa Gabbi we presume, running onto a wrestling training session on a misty morning in north India.
With Godha making its way to the screens, it looks like wrestling will continue to hog the limelight after Aamir Khan's Dangal, based on the sport, won the nation's praise.
The teaser looks very promising and we can't wait for the movie branded as a sports/comedy/drama by its makers.
This is director Basil Joseph's second outing after the 2015-hit Kunjiramayanam. Godha is written by Rakesh Mantodi and has Vishnu Sarma as its cameraman. Shaan Rahman is the music director while Abhinav Sunder Nayak is the editor.
The film is produced by Mukesh R. Mehta, C.V. Sarathi, A.V. Anoop under the banner of E4 Entertainment & AVA Productions.
