Kaniha is best remembered in Mollywood for her role as Kaitheri Makkam, the queen of Pazhassi Raja, in Mammootty starrer Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja. The actress is back with the megastar in Abrahaminte Santhathikal, slated to release on Saturday.
Directed by debutant Shaji Padoor, the film will see Kaniha playing a bold character in the role of a public prosecutor.
Talking to Onmanorama, she said, “It's a bold character. I haven't played such a role so far. I can't reveal details as of now but I am sure the viewers will love watching the movie as much we loved doing the project.”
Praising her co-star Mammootty, she said, “There's a comfort level for Mammootty knows how to keep everyone at ease on the sets. He is not just an acting legend, but also a great human being.”
On juggling between work and family, she credits everything to her husband.
“It's definitely not easy. Be it any profession for a women to survive with job and family one needs support even from your extended family. In my case, I am blessed with amazing in-laws and understanding husband. My husband is actually like a friend to me. My idea of marriage itself was to get married to a friend. As much as I respect his profession, he respects mine. At the same time, I know the limitation. When I get more offers, there's always a dilemma ,” she said.
The actress celebrates 10th wedding anniversary with Shyam Radhakrishnan and lauds her husband and in-laws for marital bliss.
Kaniha married Shyam Radhakrishnan on 15 June 2008 who works as a US-based software engineer. They have a son Sai Rishi born in November 2010.
