Robinson was playing safe in the light of numerous controversies in India over eating beef.Nigerian actor Samuel Abiola Robinson, who played the lead role in the successful Malayalam film 'Sudani from Nigeria', is back in the spotlight soon after his bid to settle a recent racist row linked to low pay.
While expressing his liking for Kerala, Samuel posted a comment on Facebook that he missed the south Indian state very much and that he was waiting to return to India for another project. He also expressed his wish to enjoy the 'beef curry and porotta', a popular food. However, he soon changed the 'beef' in the post to 'chicken' and then to 'mutton'.
Sensing that Robinson was playing safe in the light of numerous controversies in India over eating beef, his Malayali fans were quick to point out that Kerala was unlike the northern parts of the country where fringe outfits have been persecuting people on suspicion of eating or holding beef.
They communicated vehemently the value that Keralites attached to the freedom in choosing one's food. There were also comments deriding the politics of Sangh Parivar.
Responding to online support, Samuel soon admitted that beef was his favourite food and that he was afraid of the possible dangers of saying it openly.
