Divya Unni ties the knot again The wedding was held at the Sree Guruvayoorappan temple in Houston Sunday

Kottayam: Malayalam actress-dancer Divya Unni has tied the knot for the second time with Mumbai-based Keralite Arun Kumar.

The wedding was held at the Sree Guruvayoorappan temple in Houston Sunday. Arun, an engineer from Thiruvananthapuram, has been working in Houston for the past four years.

Close family and friends of the couple took part in the private ceremony.

The separation

Divya had in 2016 announced her separation from husband Dr Sudhir Shekhara.

She then ended the 14-year-old marriage and moved back to Kochi along with her children Arjun and Meenakshi.

In an exclusive interview with Vanitha, Divya Unni had said that it was saddening and depressing to end a relationship, which was meant to last forever. Putting up a brave face, the actress had said she will do everything for the well-being of her kids. "I will live for my kids," she said."

Although Divya, in the interview, doesn't mention the reason behind the separation, gossip mills are abuzz with reports suggesting Sudhir's extramarital affair. However, the reports are not officially confirmed.

Divya, the dancer

Divya is now actively pursuing her passion for dance and has frequently performing on stage. Though there were rumors of the actress also making a comeback to cinema, she is yet to appear on silver screen.

Divya Unni was a name to reckon with in the late nineties and the early part of the new millennium in Malayalam cinema.

A classical dancer of repute Divyaa Unni had acted opposite all the major heroes of the time, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Dileep and Suresh Gopi.

She had also acted in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films.
