Aju and MadhavKochi: Aju Varghese on Tuesday launched the much-acclaimed Malayalam short film 'Exodus' on YouTube. The film has already won more than 40 awards in various categories at national and international levels.
Written, directed and edited by Madhav Vishnu, the film hinges on a fictitious technology that can activate a human being according to one's needs.
The plot, which is mooted as a science fiction, captures the plight of children in war-torn Syria and sheds light on the callous greed of humankind, which takes recourse to science and technology for every need.
The brain of a young girl, Rose, is replaced by a device known as 'AIB' or 'Artificial Intelligent Brain'. Through a minor glitch in charging it, Rose is mentally thrown back to her past and what follows after that forms the crux of the story.
Speaking about the short film, Madhav Vishnu said, “This film was my graduation project for the completion of my Master's in Cinema & Television from S.H. College Thevara. I was very much delighted when film maker Lal Jose sir appreciated my work after watching it during a movie screening conducted at our college."
Asien, Didimos, Anusha, Aparna Merry, Sivaprasad, Arjun, Jithin and Amal appear in prominent roles in 'Exodus'. While Arun Swaminathan has handled the cinematography, the CGI and VFX are one by Dinaraj Pallath.
The background score is set by Vighnesh Menon. Jalaja Vijayan and Madhav Vishnu have produced the short film under the banner of Jalaja Vijayan Productions in association with Socio Productions. Muzik247 is the official online partner of the short movie.
