The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has lifted the 'ban' on director Vinayan. From now, AMMA members will have no restrictions to act in films directed by Vinayan.
Earlier, Vinayan had written to AMMA seeking permission for actors, who were AMMA members, to act in his films. AMMA announced the lifting of the ban at the organization's general body meeting on Thursday.
Vinayan's next film is based on the life of the late actor Kalabhavan Mani. Siddique, Ganesh Kumar, among others, will act in the film.
In March, the Competition Commission of India had slapped a penalty on AMMA, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), and two of the latter's subsidiaries for imposing an undeclared ban on Vinayan. The office-bearers of the organizations were also fined on the basis of a complaint filed by the director.
