New Delhi: On the occasion of his birth anniversary, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will always live in the hearts of all Indians for his patriotic fervour.
On the occasion, she remembered Netaji as one of the greatest sons of India.
"He (Bose) will always live in the hearts of all Indians for his patriotic fervour and dedication to the Indian Republic," she said.
A former Congress president and once a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, Bose's reported death in a plane crash in Formosa, now Taiwan, in 1945 has remained a mystery.
Sonia Gandhi said that the nation and the Congress Party can never forget his contribution to the national struggle for freedom.
Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, in what is now Odisha.
