Thiruvananthapuram: Expressing discontent over the recital of a Hindu 'keerthan' during the yoga day celebration held here on Tuesday, health minister K.K. Shylaja has sought an explanation from the officials concerned for including the recitation in the program chart.

"Yoga is not Hindu, per se. People from all religions or none practise it," she said.

However, the officials have passed the buck saying they just followed the Central government manual.

The celebrations were held at Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium. As part of the yoga day, a series of programs are being held across the state. The program in Kochi was inaugurated by central minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.
