Kannur: Six CPM workers were arrested on Wednesday night in connection with the murder of RSS activist Sujith.

Aroli natives M. Prasanth (34), Sreejayan (34), T. Libin (28), Joy Joseph (31), Prabhesh Bhargavan (31) and Keecheri native T.P. Akash (22) were those arrested.

The police have identified 12 more persons in connection with the case.

Sujith (27) of Aroli Azaad colony near Pappinisseri was hacked to death on Monday night in front of his family.

His aged parents and a brother tried to stop the assailants, who stormed into their house at Papinesseri around 11.30 pm, and suffered injuries in the process. They were hospitalised.

Sujith succumbed to the injuries before reaching hospital.
