Chennai: In yet another case of internet fraudsters deceiving credit card users, noted playback singer P. Unnikrishnan complained that his card details were fraudulently extracted by anonymous persons and used for online purchases to the tune of Rs 1.33 lakh.
In a petition lodged with the Anna Salai police station here on Monday, Unnikrishnan complained that fraudsters stole information of his RBL bank credit card and used it for online transactions amounting to $2,000.
As per the credit card statement obtained by the singer, the fraudulent transactions took place on November 30. Unnikrishnan had made online purchases during his visit to Mauritius a few days before the incident.
After registering the case, the police have launched investigation into the complaint with the help of the cyber cell.
