Thiruvananthapuram: President Pranab Mukherjee will reach the state capital on Thursday to inaugurate the Indian History Congress. He is slated to reach the state capital at 12 noon in a special IAF craft from Hyderabad.
The president will be received at the airport by governor P Sathasivam, CM Pinarayi Vijayan and mayor V K Prashant.
From the airport, the president will proceed to Kariyavattam and inaugurate the congress at the Golden Jubilee Hall of Kerala University at 12.30 p.m. The governor will be the chief guest. The CM would officially publish the congress' action plan by presenting it to the president.
During the function, the president is to present the Rajwade award for outstanding historian. Ministers C Raveendranath and Kadakampally Surendran and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala would attend the function. The program would end at 1.30 p.m. and the president will leave for Mysore at 1.50 p.m.
