Piravom: The relatives of Mishel Shaji, a chartered accountancy student who was found dead on the backwaters in Kochi, have refused to buy the police version regarding her death.
An action council formed to mount pressure on the state government to expedite the probe into the death too has turned down the police version as unconvincing.
The relatives as well as the action council deem the explanation only as a remnant of the speculation that was rife since the girl was reported to be missing from March 5.

Though the council has welcomed the government decision to entrust the probe with the Crime Branch, the action council chairman Sabu K. Jacob said that the probe should bring to the fore the real motive behind the death.

Had the body remained in water for 24 hours, it would have undergone a lot of changes.
The body neither had any such indication or wounds. Her relatives also say that fishermen in the locale too had made similar observations regarding the body.
The shawl, bag and mobile phone of Msihel have not yet been recovered. The police also could not trace the details of the youth who had followed her in a motorbike.
