Passengers bear the brunt as rail staff go on flash strike in Tvm

Thiruvananthapuram: Putting hundreds of passengers through a horrendous time, the staff of the Thiruvananthapuram central railway station went on a flash strike on Friday.

Following the unexpected strike, the functioning of the ticket counters and kiosks were drastically affected. Hundreds of passengers were seen queued up near the counters.

TTE R. Jayakumar of the Thiruvananthapuram division was allegedly assaulted by senior section engineer at Kannur railway station that led to the flash strike by railway employees in the state capital.

As the irate passengers also protested against this strike, the police were forced to intervene. The staff finally called off the strike after authorities promised action against the wrongdoers.
