Mani had revealed that there was a conspiracy behind raking up bar bribery controversy during the UDF regime lest he would defect to the LDF.
"Some in the UDF feared that I would break away from the UDF and join the LDF. So the conspiracy was aimed at pinning me down in the UDF. Those who were behind the conspiracy have been identified in the probe conducted by the party. But I won't spell their name out of political decency." K.M. Mani made the revelation in the chat show Nere Chovve in Manorama News channel.
