Kochi: Taking the Kochi Metro Rail a step ahead towards completion, the project obtained the certificate of the Railway's Design and Safety Organization (DSO).
It's is a certificate that is granted when no fault is detected after conducting a trial run of the metro train.
With this certificate the Kochi Metro is now eligible for inspection by the Railway safety commissioner. Inspection by the Railway safety commissioner will be conducted once all the preparations, including the stations, are complete.
If that test is also passed the Kochi Metro can be commissioned for commercial run and start ferrying passengers. The commissioning of the stretch from Aluva to Palarivattom has been scheduled for April, 2017.
