Are you one of those with complaints about the draft list of renewed ration cards? Do you think you were placed in the wrong list of beneficiaries? Here are the steps to follow to get the mistakes rectified.

1. You can go to the nearest Taluk Supply Office to raise a complaint. You will get the complaint format from the public distribution shops, on which you have to file the complaint with the taluk supply officer. Remember to attach all relevant documents along with the complaint.

2. If you are in doubt, seek the help of people who make a living out of filling up application forms near the taluk supply offices.

3. Special counters have been set up at the taluk supply offices to receive complaints and the application forms. Panchayats and municipalities have separate counters.

4. Once you have submitted your complaint along with an application form, you will receive a notice that contains the date and place to appear for hearing at the panchayat or municipality respectively. You have to appear before a committee at your local self-government body with evidence at the prescribed date.

5. Your complaints will be perused by a committee comprising the CDS chairperson, village extension officer, panchayat or municipal secretary, rationing inspectors and panchayat members. The committee will take a decision based on the available evidence in case the complainant fails to appear before it.
