New Delhi: The ministry of external affairs has refused to give a clear picture on Fr Tom Uzhunnalil, who was abducted in last March by ISIS.
When asked if the priest, who was abducted from war torn Yemen, is still alive, the ministry said it has not received any such news.
The Center had given numerous assurances to the state that it was taking all steps to secure his release. Even prime minister Narendra Modi had promised to help bring back the priest. However, if sources are to be believed, the central government has no clear information about the priest’s whereabouts.
Fr Tom Uzhunnalil was abducted on March 4, 2016. A few months later, two videos of the priest were released online. In his second video, the priest blamed the government for not doing anything to secure his release.
