Kottayam: Former legislator P.B. Raman Pillai passed away at his residence here Monday night. He was 86.
He was undergoing treatment after he met with a road accident recently.
He had represented Ettumanoor assembly constituency during 1970 and 1977. He had to serve jail term in his first year as an MLA for disrupting the policy address by the governor. He staged the protest demanding that the policy address be delivered in Malayalam.
After being a socialist for many years, he had switched leniency to BJP in recent years. The cremation will be held at his residential premises at 4 pm on Tuesday.
