Thiruvananthapuram: Various employees' unions affiliated to the Opposition and ruling dispensation clashed against each other at the Secretariat on Wednesday over flex boards erected by various parties ahead of the State Assembly elections.
The Left parties had installed flex boards the other day featuring Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and solar panel scam accused Saritha S. Nair. Organisations linked to the ruling front installed flex boards displaying Pinarayi Vijayan's desperate longing for the chief ministerial chair. The employees further gathered at the Cantonment gate and their squabbles later snowballed into a violent clash.
The violence was diffused after police intervened to pacify the activists and brought down flex boards erected inside the secretariat compound.
