Actor Dileep attended the campaign rally of K.B. Ganesh Kumar, the LDF candidate from Pathanapuram, on Friday.
Dileep arrived at the constituency and campaigned for Ganesh Kumar, ahead of the polling set for Monday.
On Thursday, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and ace director Priyadarshan attended the campaign rally of Ganesh Kumar, which led to Sailim Kumar leaving AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), and eventually snowballing into a controversy.
Salim Kumar alleged that there was an unwritten law in AMMA that the actors would not directly take part in the campaign activities in Pathanapuram, where the three main candidates are actor-turned politicians.
Dileep also offered his support to Mohanlal, stating that none of the actors competing in the Assembly polls consulted AMMA before and there is no regulation in place for members to attend campaign rallies.
Actor Jagadish, the UDF candidate from Pathanapuram, had also expressed his disappointment in Mohanlal's presence at Ganesh Kumar's campaign rally.
