Thrissur: Jamanthi was happy to have a job at last. She was also sad at the memory of her husband, a security guard killed by a businessman in Thrissur.
A day after K Chandrabose’s killer, Muhammed Nisham, was sentenced to 38 years in prison, Jamanthi joined Oushadhi, the pharma company owned by the Kerala government. She has been appointed to the post of a typist at the company’s marketing office at Kuttanellur with a monthly salary of Rs 18,000.
Though her post is that of a typist, she will be working as a computer operator. “I have to learn it. It is my livelihood,” she said. She has been appointed on compassionate grounds after her husband was killed when Nisham rammed his vehicle into him on January 29, 2015.
Jamanthi reached the Oushadhi office at 11 in the morning on Friday. She was accompanied by Chandrabose’s mother Ambujakshi and another relative. She completed all the paperwork, signed the attendance register and joined the afternoon shift.
