Thiruvananthapuram: A day after Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan snubbed IAS officers in the state for resorting to a protest against Vigilance chief, chief secretary S.M. Vijayanad has reportedly expressed interest to quit.

Vijayanand has been reportedly discontent over the troubles being faced by some senior IAS officials in the state for sometime now. He is also unhappy with the functioning of the chief minister's office, Manorama News reported.

The senior official is not against the Vigilance probes, but he is not happy as the procedures are not being followed properly, Manorama News reported quoting sources.

Some ministers and top officials have urged the chief secretary to reconsider his decision.

IAS officers in the state had decided to go on leave en masse on Monday in protest against the alleged 'vindictive behavior' of Vigilance chief Jacob Thomas. However, they backtracked on the decision after the chief minister snubbed them saying the protest was not justifiable.
