Anoop John was had many doubts when he approached the architect couple Shyam Kumar and Nisha. His plot was 13 feet below the level of the road. Moreover, the 11 cent plot was narrow too.
Anoop wanted his home to have ample space in the interior with easy flow of light and profuse air passage. The clever architect couple built a beautiful house for Anoop just as he had dreamed! The plan and design of the house were prepared in accordance with shape of the plot.
The plot was raised to a certain extent. The foundation was double the usual height. The outer walls were built with bricks, while inner walls were built with concrete blocks in order to cut the cost.
Courtyard and prayer room, adjoining the living room, were built jointly since there used to be held frequent prayer meetings, which necessitated more space for the gatherers to sit.
Courtyard topped with a pergola, which is overlaid with toughened glass, lets in ample flow of light. Jali was set to separate living room from the courtyard.
» Vitrified tiles were used for flooring.
» Jackfruit tree wood was used for doors and windows. Furniture was bought from outside.
» Cabinets in the kitchen were made of MDF.
» Walls in the interiors were coated with white paint to reflect the light.
» French windows also let in ample sunlight.
