Dr. Shoyson who runs a clinic at Aluva town in Kerala confesses that he has been enjoying the bustle of the vibrant city. The family wished to build their dream home, in a calm area, not far away from the town. They were thrilled when they found this special riverside plot that met all their requirements.
Fortunately, this spot wasn’t inundated in the historic floods of 2018 and 2019. However, the flood levels were referred before beginning the construction of the fabulous house.
The structure has been designed by making the spectacular views of the beautiful river its focal point. The GI truss roof paved with terracotta tiles perfectly suit the tropical climate of Kerala. As the truss roof has been installed above flat roof, the area between these could be used as a utility area.
Designed in 3000 sqft, this splendid abode has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living area, dining space, kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms in the ground floor. Meanwhile, there is an upper living area, two bedrooms and multi-utility spaces in the upper floor. Interestingly, a mezzanine floor too is arranged where a spacious study space has been set up.
A mini gazebo is built to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the river, during leisure hours. Besides the car porch close to the sit-out, there is another porch too. A servants/caretaker room too has been arranged close to this.
The semi-open spaces in the interiors make communication easier. Meanwhile, the vitrified tile flooring in multiple hues add a vibrant charm to the areas. The custom-made furniture pieces are designed to suit the general theme of the house.
The enchanting views of the rivers and the coconut palms could be enjoyed from the balcony in the upper floor. Moreover, the soothing breeze from the river flows in if the sliding glass door here is opened.
The dining area and the pantry kitchen are designed in the semi-open style. A quaint breakfast counter is what separates these areas. The double-height ceiling, meanwhile, makes these spaces look vaster and ensures amazing ventilation too.
The sliding glass doors beside the dining area could be opened to receive the delightful views of the riverside.
Interestingly, bay windows have been arranged in the bedrooms. The bath attached bedrooms have study space, wardrobes and dressing area too.
The family are thrilled to move into their brand-new house that brings in a slice of nature.
