Perumbavoor case New sketch of a person who is suspected to have murdered the law student in Perumbavoor, Jisha.

Kochi: The Police team investigating the Jisha murder case has prepared a new sketch of the murder suspect. The sketch was prepared by collating the details of the youth who was seen leaving Jisha’s house at Vattolippadi Canal Puramboke on April 28, the day Jisha was murdered, and that of an unknown person who was seen at Iringol Kavu.

Neighbours had told Police that they had seen a youth wearing a yellow shirt coming out towards the canal after they heard a loud cry from Jisha. It is assumed that the same person was seen by local residents at Irinogole Kavu. According to the sketch the youth is a fair-complexioned, skinny figure above 5.5 feet tall. He had a curly unkempt hair.

The first sketch prepared by the Police was of no help in nabbing the culprit and the new sketch was prepared after that. It is assumed Jisha was heard talking angrily to this person. A homemaker who was Jisha’s neighbor told the investigating team that she had heard Jisha telling the person, who is believed to be her acquaintance, ``that is why I don’t believe anyone.’’ And these are supposed to be last words spoken by Jisha before she was murdered. Shortly afterwards the neighbour heard a loud scream from Jisha. The front and the back doors of the house were open at that time. Another neighbour told Police that there was a scuffle inside Jisha’s house and later the sound of slamming the front door was heard.

When the neighbours thought that the quarrel was over and prepared to return to their homes they saw a youth leaving Jisha’s house through the backdoor and entering the canal. But no one tried to stop him or take notice. The neighbours told investigating team that they were not aware that Jisha was murdered. Earlier police suspected two of Jisha’s neighbours in connection with the case and they came close to identifying one of them as the accused.

The police are planning to conduct DNA test if any persons is found to have close resemblance with that of the sketch. The police are pinning their hopes on this sketch since crucial evidences have been lost in this case. Persons having any information may contact 9497987121, 9497990074 and 9497990078 and 9497996979.
