After Kerala Blasters failed to qualify for the ongoing Indian Super League Season 4 semifinals, winger Jackichand Singh and midfielder Milan Singh are all set to leave the team.
The moves came after Blasters' head coach David James extended his contract till 2021 on Sunday.
Earlier, star player Dimitar Berbatov also left the team after lashing out at James in an Instagram post. Without mentioning him, Berbatov ridiculed the tactics of the 'wannabe coach' of chipping straight to the strikers and asked who plays like that. His post added that the season was over for him.
Jackichand Singh has signed a two-year deal with ISL semifinalists FC Goa. The 25-year-old made 17 appearances for Kerala Blasters in the 2017-18 ISL season where he scored twice, including one against Sergio Lobera’s side. It is believed that the former I-League Player of the Year award winner would earn Rs 1.9 crore for the deal.
Milan Singh, who also joined Blasters this season, is reported to have reached an agreement with Mumbai City FC for an undisclosed fee.
Meanwhile, NorthEast United’s Seiminlen Doungel has agreed to shift to Kerala Blasters, according to reports. Doungel will ply his trade for the David James-coached outfit for the next three seasons. The deal is believed to be in the region of Rs 2.4 crore for three seasons.
In 16 games for NorthEast United this season, the Manipuri forward has scored four goals including a hat-trick against Chennaiyin FC.
