Kochi: Kerala Blasters have suffered a big blow with striker Iain Hume ruled out of the rest of ISL Season 4 with an injury. The Canadian had picked up the injury in Blasters' 2-1 win over FC Pune City in their last game.
Hume, ISL's all-time top-scorer, has been Blasters' highest goal-getter this season with five strikes, including a hat-trick against Delhi Dynamos.
The 34-year-old is the latest Blasters players to join the injury list. Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, who has been sidelined with an injury, returned to Blasters' first eleven in their match against ATK in Kolkata Thursday night.
Hume, ever the fighter, expressed hope that he will be back with renewed vigor.
Ugandan midfielder Keziron Kizito, who suffered a shoulder injury, was dropped and Spaniard Victor Pulga was signed recently.
Hume, who was with Blasters in the inaugural season, played for ATK in the last two years, before returning to the Yellow Brigade this time around.
Blasters are in fifth spot in the 10-team ISL, with 21 points from 15 matches.
