Panaji: Actor Malavika Mohanan is so excited about being part of a Majid Majidi film that she calls it a "surreal experience". She said she had never thought of getting such a great opportunity to work with a filmmaker of Majidi's grandeur.
"There was a lot of pressure on me, though in a good sense. Not every actor gets such an opportunity," Malavika said while addressing media along with Majidi and other crew members of Beyond the Clouds as part of the 48th edition of the IFFI here on Tuesday.
"As a film student, I used to watch and study Majidi's films. But I had never thought that I will be acting in his film one day. It's a dream come true for me and an honor," she said.
Malavika's co-actor Ishaan Khattar, who played the male lead character in the film, echoed her feeling. He hailed Majidi's extra ordinary leadership quality as a director.
Ishaan is the half-brother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor.
Beyond the Clouds, Majidi's debut Indian film, was the opening film of this year's IFFI. The film has received mixed reaction from the delegates who watched it on Monday.
Malavika plays Tara, a poverty-stricken girl in Mumbai, in the film. Her debut as an actress was opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Malayalam film Pattam Pole.
