As the intense fight on prime minister Narendra Modi's home turf Gujarat ended Thursday evening, the exit poll results have emerged, showing a win for BJP.

The numbers are worrisome for the incumbant as the majority may drop if the figures tally with the final election results.

The Times Now-VMR poll has pegged the numbers at 109 for the BJP, 70 for the Congress and 3 for the others.

The Republic TV poll, which is close to the earlier numbers, pegged the figure at 108 for BJP and 74 for the Congress.

The BJP is currently perched at 120 in the 182-seat house. The Congress, considered weak in the state where the saffron party has wielded power for the past 22 years, is currently at 43.

CSDS survey for South Gujarat recorded the BJP to mop up 21-27, Congress 9-13 and others 1. The NewsX-CNX exit poll numbers put the BJP at 115 and Congress at 65. Sahara Samay-CNX survey predicted BJP will get 110-120 seats and the Congress will bag 65-75.

India Today's exit polls predicted a clean sweep for BJP in Himachal Pradesh with 47-55. Congress will have to run for cover if the numbers prove right in HP, being pegged at 13-20.

The exit polls have thrown results similar to the opinion polls conducted by various agencies.
