This soft and moist orange cake could be enjoyed with tea or coffee. You could also try pineapple and strawberry flavours. Check out the recipe.
Ingredients
¾ cup all purpose flour
1 egg
½ cup sugar
¼ cup milk
40 gms butter
A pinch of orange zest (finely grated)
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp milk powder
½ tsp vanilla or orange essence
A pinch of salt
Preparation
Pre heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius
Heat milk, orange zest and butter in a sauce pan
Place a sheet of butter paper in the cake tin and grease it with butter
Beat egg and butter in a bowl or a mixer jar
Into it add vanilla/orange essence and orange juice
Blend well
Now add the all purpose flour, milk powder, baking powder and salt
Add the hot milk mixture
Beat or blend gently (do not over beat)
This batter would be looser that the regular cake batter
Pour it into the grease cake tin
Bake for 30 minutes in the pre heat oven
Cut the cake into slices after it has cooled down.
