Chilli egg bonda is a tasty tea-time snack that is quite filling as well. Here is the recipe for chilli egg bonda.
Ingredients
For egg bonda:
4 boiled eggs
¾ cup gram flour
¼ cup rice flour
Asafetida
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
Salt as required
Water required to mix 1 cup flour
2 cups oil
For chilli mix:
3 tsp oil
¼ tsp mustard seeds
3 green chillies
2 dried chillies
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
2 onions
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala
2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
Salt as required
Coriander leaves as required
Preparation
Prepare the batter by mixing gram flour and rice flour with chilli powder, mustard, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and some water
The batter should have a slightly thicker consistency
Cut the boiled eggs into 4 pieces
Dip the egg pieces in the batter and deep fry in hot oil
Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
Sauté green chillies, dried chillies, curry leaves and ginger-garlic paste
Add the onions and sauté
Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder and salt
Sauté until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Add the fried eggs into this masala
Mix well
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Enjoy chilli egg bonda with hot tea.
