Namitha with Mohanlal and a still from 'Pulimurugan'Namitha, the hot actress of South Indian cinema, made a comeback to Malayalam Cinema, with the latest Mohanlal starrer Puli Murugan.
The bubbly actress who is quite happy with Pulimurugan success, says that she can't imagine anyone else other than Mohanlal for the role of Murugan.
Calling him an intellectual artist, Namitha told a daily, ''We all know he is a superstar and a great actor... but he is also very knowledgeable and a voracious reader! Given any small break, one would see him reading a book. I can’t imagine anyone else other than Mohanlal sir for that Pulimurugan character. Literally, he lived the role.''
About signing the big budget Malayalam movie, Namitha said, “I shed about 20 kilos and was listening to scripts when director Vysakh narrated the Pulimurugan story. I was fascinated by the adventure element to the story, and was wondering how he would bring his vision alive. When he said that I play the role of Julie who hails from an affluent family and helps Mohanlal sir, I gave my nod right away.”
Earlier, Namitha's selfies with Mohanlal had gone viral on social media platforms and she called it as a 'fan moment' with the Malayalam icon. “I wanted to take a selfie with him, but was a bit apprehensive about how he’d react. To my surprise, he was very forthcoming and immediately agreed! I never thought that this picture would go viral,” she said.
