Actress Kasthuri hit the headlines recently after she said that casting couch exists in film industry.
''A hero made advances and didn't take no for an answer when I refused to oblige,” she was quoted as saying in an interview recently.
But now, it seems the actress is soft-pedaling on the issue.
Although Kasthuri hadn't mentioned the name of the hero she had hinted that he is also politician. Soon various online websites started speculating the hero's name.
Now, Kasthuri has come forward and lashed out at the media for “speculating and twisting” her statements.
"One guy writes a lie, and everyone copy pastes the same lie,” Kasthuri tweeted. ''Want to take action against liars and yellow journalists- responsible media should support me,'' according to her.
Kasthuri debuted in the Tamil film Aatha Un Koyiley in 1991, and has acted in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films.
Earlier, actress-director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan too had been embroiled in a similar row after she accused the media of misinterpreting her statement regarding casting couch.
The issue of casting couch came to the fore again recently when Tamil actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar took to Twitter to share a disturbing issue of sexual harassment in the industry.
